TWO traffic mishaps were reported occuring Friday, January 5; one near Amissville on Route 211 and another on old 211 at Baldwin’s Grocery, Washington.
In the former collision Lottie Mae Pullen of Gainesville operating a 69 Chevrolet slowed to make a left turn and was struck from behind by a 72 Ford driven by Doris Marie Popkins of Amissville.
According to Trooper G. F. Gregory, no injuries resulted and Mrs. Popkins was cited for following too closely.
Three vehicles were involved in the second collision Friday. Donald C. Jenkins of Washington operating a 65 Ford entered the highway from Baldwin’s 'Store and his vehicle stalled. Mrs. Mary Quaintance of Sperryville , in a 71 Chrysler, slowed to, avoid striking his car and was struck from the rear by Bobby Lee Weakley of Washington in a 67 Buick.
No charges were made said Trooper Gregory and damage was estimated at $300 to the Chrysler; $600 to the Buick and $200 to the Ford.
