Panthers lose a pair
THE PANTHERS lost a pair of games — one on Friday, one on Tuesday —but continued to provide home fans with close see-saw battles. The Stonewall Jackson team defeated the local cagers 59-38 in a cold shooting game. Harry Jordan shot well in that £ame, getting^ 29 points while the rest of the team only got nine additional points. Against the Page County team Tuesday night, the final score was 59-56. This time four players for Rappahannock were in double figures, but no individual had a really great night. The local team trailed the visitors 3-10 points all through the game. They rallied to within three points in the last minute but couldn’t pull it out. Bobby Smoot got eight points
in the last quarter^ including six of six free throws, but it was too little, too late.
Coach Jerry Campbell’s JVs got their second win of the last three games, beating Page 51-37 leading , the whole game. Ernie McDonald and Billy Dawson each got 12 and Hodge Miller had 11 to lead a well balanced attack that lacked the numerous mistakes to which JVs are prone. □
