When not too involved elsewhere, Minnie is a hostess at the famed June Tolliver Craft House and Drama at Big Stone Gap. She painted walls and furniture all her life but began painting pictures after she turned 65.
Of all her studies, Mrs. Mitchell declares she likes “playing in mud” best. She says it is interesting to compare education 65 years ago with modes and programs of today. She says the educational system has changed greatly over the years, and modern education is, for the most part, far more interesting.
