Marvin Neilsen Jr., a third-year student at Jefferson Medical College,; Philadelphia, is engaged in a six-week preceptor ship in family medicine in Anchorage, Alaska. He will participate • in diagnosis and treatment of patients in Anchorage, in addition to accompanying a medical group into isolated areas to aid native families.
Hopefully this program will encourage young doctors to engage in family practice in rural communities rather than continue the trend of specializing in large hospitals or cities.
