Herbert Foster, a farmer and orchardist, has served on the Rappahannock County Selective Service Board since November of 1957. He is presently chairman. His retirement will be effective June .';2, so he attended his last meeting Tuesday night.

Although the SS offices will be centralized, each county or city will continue to function as separate units and each will maintain a board as in the past. Board members will continue to be held in each jurisdiction.

THE SEAT vacated by Mr. Foster will be filled by his son, Charles, also of Flint Hill. Other members of the Rappahannock Board include Howard Butler of Sperryville, W. H. Lyne of Washington, the Rev. John Pendleton, Flint Hill and J. R. Latham of Amissville. *

Herbert Foster is a member of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors, serving there also for many years. Mr. Latham serves on this Board, too. □
