CONGRESSMAN Joel T. Broyhill (R-Va) has introduced legislation in the House of Representatives to lower speed limits on all Federal-aid highways, to conserve fuel. This action backs up a similar request Broyhill made to the President two weeks ago, and also follows action taken by the Senate June 4.
“By urging the House,to move on this bill as an emergency measure the Congress can express its concern over the seriousness of the fuel situation. While this legislation will not solve the long-term energy crisis, it will give the Congress a breathing spell to better deal with the total fuel problem.
