IT GOT COLD, really cold, for the first time last week, and the snowmaking machines were cranked up at the Rappahannock Ski Area. If they’d waited until the weekend, they could have saved themselves a lot of trouble.
Only a few hard core ski fans and a snowmobiler were around for opening day at Rappahannock Ski Area last Friday, but the lower half of the main slope was ready, with three feet of man-made snow.
