Aileen Inc. would like to make the public aware that on December 14 a telegram containting this message was sent:
We have been informed by our supplier, EXXON Corp., that our propane allotment is being cut to 47% of last year’s, useage, effective immediately because of federal regulations.
This will result in a 53% decrease in our employment in Virginia which will be approximately 1500 people out of a total of a little over 3000.
It seems manifestly unfair that with a 15% short fall in petroleum the employees, customers and stockholders of Aileen Inc. should be required to suffer a 53% cut.
It is requested that an immediate change be made in this allotment.
