IN REGARD to another county expenditure, Miller read a letter from'the Virginia Attorney General which said, in essence, that the county was legally correct in making an appropriation of $1,000 to help pay lawyers fighting proposed new powerline corridors in the county.
The request had been made of the Supervisors by Phil Irwin of the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection, and some county residents—including former County Treasurer Robert L. (Jock) Brown—that the county couldn’t make such a contribution to an organization such as the RLEP.
