WITH THE approach of Christmas, Colonel H. W. Burgess, Superintendent of State Police, again had a word for parents who are considering minibikes as presents for their children.
“Since minibikes are capable of self-propulsion,” he said, “they are legally motor vehicles and their operators must observe all laws governing motor vehicles. This means they must be registered, bear license plates and be insured, or have the uninsured motorist fee paid on them.”
Official mechanical inspection is required twice a year and they must be equipped with such items as horns, lights, rear-view mirrors and brakes which are capable of stopping them within 30 feet at a speed of 20 mph. - » Operators—must be fully
