Lois Yates, a student at the College of William and Mary, arrived Friday to spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Yates and sister, Janet Yates. Elder and Mrs. W. T. Daily of Luray were dinner guests Sunday in the Yates home.

Mrs. Mary Quaintance, Mrs. I. R. Kilby, Mrs. Fred W. Schaefer and Miss Mary Miller Wood attended the Tanner funeral in Wolftown Saturday afternoon.

Mrs. Dale Metzinger accompanied by Mrs. W. H. Lyne and Mrs. Charles Albright attended the concert at the Culpeper High School Thursday night.

TOWN COUNCIL

The Christmas tree in the Town of Washington which is usually lighted for the holiday season will not be decorated this year in compliance with the energy crisis measures. This action was taken at the December meeting last Tuesday of the Town Council.□
