A “TALLY SHEET” had been proposed by Rappahannock Supervisor Pete Luke “to keep track of just how often the Highway Department listens to us.”
Luke made his comment last Thursday at a Rappahannock-Rapidan Planning District Commission meeting in Culpeper. His remark brought nods of agreement from Fauquier representatives on the Commission.
Referring to what Luke called “a number of editorials in the Piedmont Virginian,” he said, “I have this gut feeling that the Highway Department is just going through the motions on this environmental impact stuff.” (It’s the same point the Virginian made.)
“They just seem to do what they want to anyhow,” said Luke. “We should just keep track of who wins and who loses, so we cqn take it to the legislature.”
