VIRGINIA traffic deaths for February of this year numbered only 48, or 42 less than the 90 of February, 1973, and the lowest February toll since the 36 of 1961, says Colonel H.W. Burgess, Superintendent of State Police.
Colonel Burgess said that he was at a loss to explain why January’s 75 deaths were only two below those of January, 1973.
