Benefit art sale
THE MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION of Rappahannock County will receive half of the proceeds from the sale of paintings and other works of art done by Mrs. Emmy Allen of Flint Hill. The show and sale is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, March 23 and 24 at Flint Hill fire hall. Saturday hours will be 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.
Among items on display for sale will be drawings, watercolors, sketches and acrylics. Many of Mrs. Allen’s works were done abroad during her extensive travels. Also included will be some local scenes, some matted and some framed. Available, too, will be some wooden frames.
Mrs. Allen paints under the name, Emmy Stone, and her works are signed and dated. She has been interested and active in the Mental Health Association here since its inception. Sale proceeds will help the association continue its beneficial performance, after Mrs. Allen leaves for California where she plans to make her home.D
