Rappahannock bulls
are rated superior OUT OF 124 JUNIOR BULLS of all breeds on per- ^ formance test at the Culpeper and Red House test stations, four Rappahannock County bulls turned in superior performances. H. L. Manwaring’s two Charolais bulls had the second and third highest weights per day of age of all breeds, at 3.11 and 3.07 pounds per day. They had the third and fourth highest average daily gains for the test period at 3.36 and 3.29 pounds per day. Their adjusted 365 day weight rated third and fourth at 1110 and 1109 pounds. They both hit top grade for the test at grade 15. Randall Updike’s Angus bull had the second highest adjusted 365 day weight at 1117 pounds and the fourth highest weight per day of age at 3.06 pounds. James Cannon’s Angus bull had the fifth highest weight per day of age at 2.97 pounds. He had the seventh highest average daily gain on the test at 3.21 pounds and graded 15. His adjusted 365 day weight was fifth at 1089 pounds. One of Manwaring’s Charolais bulls and Updike’s Angus bull are being retained by them for use in their own herds.□
