The pre-school program in Rappahannock, funded this year through the Piedmont Vocational School, allows Dixie to reach special kids at an age when she can help them achieve their full potential. “I believe in the program,” she said. "It’s critical that we get to these youngsters early."
Dixie’s Rappahannock students include one kindergartner already enrolled in school, one 5-year old, two 4-year olds, three 3-year olds, one 2-ycar old and a 1-year old child. She teaches all but the kindergartner in the children’s homes.
