McGarvey is the director and will handle direct patient services while Mrs. Burke will serve as receptionist and be responsible for referals, file management and emergency calls.
Becky Burke comes to the clinic after a year as elegibility worker for the Madison County Welfare Department. Prior to that, she worked for six and a half years for Rappahannock's Welfare Department—three and a half years as office assistant and three years as administrator for the food stamp program.
Mrs. Burke said she sought the job as Mental Health Clinic office manager because she believed in mental health programs and felt a full-time clinic would be giK»d for the county. She added that she also wanted to return to work in the community where she lived.
The new clinic, part of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Mental Health Center and Community Services Board, will offer 24-hour emergency service with regular office hours from 8:30 to 4:30 on weekdays.
