August 5, the Flint Hill Rescue Squad carried Linda Deardoff from her home on Rt. 637 to Fauquier Hospital. Mrs. Mamie Wrenn was taken from the home of Calvin Racer at Washington to Warren Memorial H«>spital by this unit August 12. Later the same day, the squad was called to an accident off Rt. 522 south of Flint Hill, but their services were not needed. August 13, James Stringfellow was transported to Warren Memorial Hospital from an automobile accident on Rt. 522 north of Flint Hill by the unit.

According to the fire company secretary, Moe Walker, gross receipts from the event exceeded $29,000. Walker stated that the fire company and ladies auxiliary expressed appreciation to all who in any way supported the fund raising event.
