Edna Woodard of Washington and Mrs. Virginia Whorton of Castleton.

A funeral service was held Wednesday for Lula Mae Poe, 72, of Winchester at the chapel of Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal. It was conducted by the Rev. Irving Johnson. Burial followed in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Front Royal.

Mrs. Poe died Sunday, August 13, 1978, in Shawnee Springs Nursing Home in Winchester.

Daughter of the late George W. Mills and Hester Williams Mills, she was born April 9, 1906, at Huntly in Rappahannock County.

Surviving are two daughters, Hilda Barr and Anna Belle Plummer, both of Winchester; two grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
