Walking out of the House Chambers the other day with fellow Delegate Clinton Miller from Shenandoah, he remarked “A bill a day, that means we will be here 1580 more days.”
It is hard to believe that for three straight days during the regular session we only worked on three controversial bills. We had to adjourn, go to committee hearings and reconvene at 4:30 until 6:00 p.m. or later. As mentioned last year, it’s awfully hard on a self-winding watch and if this keeps up, I’ll have to get another kind because of the debate and all that sitting.
Luckily over 700 bills did not make the cutoff date, so we are behind in bill numbers compared to the short 1977 Session. Now, if we can kill one-half of the remainder, the State may not
