Rezoning Procedures

At the conclusion of the comprehensive plan review, Chairman Herbert Barksdale asked if the rest of the planners felt they needed to get together for discussion before the July 26 hearing on Peter Kramer's Old Mill rezoning application. Miller and E. P. Luke both replied that no special session was necessary since the issues involved had been covered at an earlier meeting.

Following confusion over procedural steps that arose with C. L. Goode’s rezoning request for his proposed Flint Hill subdivision, two years ago, the planners adopted a check-off list. Planner Walter Masterson suggested that the check-off list be strictly adhered to with Kramer’s application and all future rezonings.

“There are certain formalities called for in the zoning ordinance and 1 don't think the Planning Commission should look at (a ^ rezoning request) until theyTfe done,” he stated.

“Who's responsible for putting the Planning Commission's ads in the Rappahannock News?” asked Miller. “The Zoning Administrator or our clerk?”
