The United States Senate approved legislation last week sponsored by Virginia’s two senators to make sabotage of a nuclear power plant a felony under federal criminal law.
Sen. Harry F. Byrd, Jr., introduced the bill with Sen. John W. Warner as cosponsor. The Senate approved it by voice vote as an amendment to the fiscal 1980 authorization bill for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
