Parents of kindergarten age children in Rappahannock County are asked to bring their five-year-olds to a pre-school screening to determine degree of readiness for kindergarten activities. The screening has been scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 and 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, and Thursday, August 16.
Hearing, vision, speech, motor development, and social skills will be evaluated. This screening is part of a required state-wide screening of all in-coming kindergarten students.

Michael Massie of Washington attended the Southern States Cooperative’s Young Farmer Summer Seminar held July 19 in Culpeper.
Young farmers at the seminar elected Gerald L. Young of Fredericksburg as area representative on the Southern States Cooperative's Young Farmer Advisory Board.
Michael is the son of Wade H. Massie of Washington.
