Offers Film
In response to the enthusiasm shown for the first of the Rappahannock Library’s film series, another fine offering, “Louisiana Story,” will be shown on Tuesday, November 20, at 7:30 p.m.
Produced by Robert Flaherty, “Louisiana Story” is a narrative documentary masterpiece which captures the rare beauty of the Louisiana Bayou country and depicts the impact of encroaching civilization upon that primitive environment with the arrival of oil well drillers.
Flaherty is known as “the father of the documentary.” An early camera artist, he tells “Louisiana Story" through the eyes of a young boy. The music of Virgil Thomson enhances the quality of the production.
The library’s series will continue through the coming year with films shown on different days and at different hours to accomodate a variety of schedules. Organizers hope that the films will be shared by both parents and children since ;they will have broad general appeal.

Mt. Salem Baptist Church near Washington, will have services Sunday, November 18 at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Bobby Rooper from Culpeper will be guest speaker.
