As part of the fight against illegal hunting, the commission is in the process of distributing bumper stickers which state “I REPORT WILDLIFE VIOLATIONS Channel 9.” Also being distributed are wallet-sized cards which list instructions as to how concerned citizens may report game and fish violations.
Bankston said that persons witnessing a violation should • know the time and place the incident occured and be able to describe the individuals involved and their vehicle with license number, if possible.
Bankston emphasized that witnesses should never attempt to apprehend the violator. “Report the details to me or to the nearest law enforcement officials as soon as possible,” Bankston concluded.
