Two vehicles collided on the east side of the mountain near Panorama Saturday and both were declared a total loss. According to Trooper H. A. Newlin, the two drivers involved were Donald Nelson Loun of Fairfax in a 1979 Ford pickup and William H. Johnson of Arlington operating a 1970 Audi.
Johnson was descending the mountain, going east, when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck Loun. Johnson received a broken arm; Richard Johnson, a passenger, sustained severe lacerations of the face, and several other passengers sustained minor injuries, said Newlin.
Loun suffered a concussion. All were treated in Page Memorial Hospital, Luray, and released.
