8. If you don’t bag the game you’re looking for, don’t take out your frustrations on highway signs or trees with unnecessary target practice.
9. Keep a first aid kit in your vehicle.
10. Never mix alcohol and gun powder. The time for liquid refreshment is after hunting, not before or during. It is illegal to hunt under the influence of alcohol. "If you have a hangover, then you’re under the influence,” Bankston noted.
Reporting Violations
The Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries is enlisting the aid of citizens throughout Virginia to combat hunting violations. Bankston emphasized that the most improtant aspect of citizen participation in this battle is willingness to come to court and testify. “You have to be willing to identify the person who violated the law,” he said.
