Cancer volunteers pressed the National society for anti-smoking posters, decals, pamphlets, stick-ons and pins to hand out to county youngsters as part of the Great American Smoke-Out campaign.
Our local Cancer Society has done its part. Now it’s up to parents. Join the Smoke-Out on November 15 and give up cigarettes. It’s difficult but by doing it, even for just one day, you can demonstrate to your children that you believe smoking presents a health hazard.
Talk to your children about what they heard in the school programs. You can continue what our Cancer Society has begun in waging a war against smoking.
