The JV Panthers were edged out in a heart breaker by the Strasburg Rams last Friday, 22-21. Through the entire contest the score seesawed back and forth.
Neither team scored against the others’ tight defense until two minutes into the game and then it was the Rams who opened up with the first basket. Mike Leake came back 30 seconds later to tie, 2-2. The Panthers broke the tie and led 4-2 withone minute and a half on the clock. The Rams tied it again near the final seconds of the low scoring first period to make it 4-4.
In the second quarter, the Panthers made a few bad shots but they pulled in offensive rebounds and had to or three opportunities to score each time down the court. The Rams, however, were held to one shot in their offensive possessions. Rappahannock led 12-8 at
