ROUTE 211—AMISSVILLE
Stains are an especially fine finish for sawtextured siding. With a rough surface, stains penetrate better than paint and so exert a longer preservative effect. Stains also do not peel, crack or blister and a new coat can be applied without prior scraping or sanding which would be a very rough job. Stains also allow the natural grain of the wood to show through. Paint, on the other hand, is more suitable for a smooth-sanded surface which allow s for close adherence and an easier repainting job.
