In the attachment to the Kennedy family bloodlines and its charisma, there is still late in the 20th century a trace of American roots in monarchy. It’s ironic that a nation of 230 million people today is not producing more new hames and faces for the Presidency. Yet that is the way it is. We do not all have to accept it. Whatever else may be said about Jimmy Carter among the Democrats, he is a large enough man to keep his values in order and, I think if only for this reason among others, will and should at the end be the Democratic nominee.
