that we may not trust ourselves to find the “best" method. In fact we may be trying so hard to be “ideal” parents that we forget to enjoy the process of childrearing.

While there are certain qualities of understanding and support that all children need, as parents we can develop our own styles of parenting, according to our own values, ^reliefs, and experiences.

A workshop on Parenting: A Matter of Self-Esteem, will be held at the Rappahannock Mental Health Ginic. It will be led by Barbara Thompson, M. Ed. in counseling, who has a background in teaching, counseling, and consulting. Among the workshops she has led and designed are family relationships, communication skills, and life planning.

The workshop, which will meet for four sessions, will start Thursday, January 31, at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock Mental Health Ginj£. The fee will be SI2 for the series, SI5 for a couple.
