Dr. Brooke Miller Moffett, 58. of Norfolk died Friday, September 5, 1980, at his home.
Graveside services were held Monday at the family farm cemetery in Washington.
Moffett, a native of Washington. Va., was a son of Mrs. Bertie Lib Moffett of Washington. Other survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ann Major Moffett and a daughter, Mrs. Roberta Elizabeth Moffett Baker of Norfolk.
Dr. Moffett, a practicing family physician in Norfolk since 1952, was a graduate of the University of Richmond and the Medical College of Virginia. He served his internship at De Paul Hospital.

Smoot
Edward James Smoot, 61. of Clearbrook, died Sunday. September 7. 1980, at Winchester Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Jones Funeral Home in Winchester by the Rev. Jack Kerns and the Rev. Thomas Spiker. Burial was in Orlean Cemetery near Front Royal.
Mr. Smoot was born March 28, 1919, at Broad Run. son of the late Sutton Waters and Rosalie Smoot. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are his widow, Martha Smoot, three sons. James Smoot, Carl Smoot and David Smoot, two ^daughters. Shirley McCloud and Diane Smoot, all of Clearbrook; a sister, Goldie Anna Smoot of Washington, and two grandchildren. Six children predeceased him.
