Otherwise, none of our prior forebodings was realized. Our medicine chest, as already noted, remained unused. It was a bit of a bore having to shun tapwater. even for teeth-cleaning, and let only bottled water pass one's lips, but it became a habit—and we did not get sick. Much Indian food was not to my personal taste, but there was always something 1 could enjoy. If we saw little grinding poverty and smelled almost no grievous smells, we knew we were leading a sheltered life, and were not ungrateful.
Not that we were totally blind to India's problems. Over-population, fuel shortages, air pollution, and an almost pathological suspicion of neighboring Pakistan could hardly be overlooked. But a stranger gets the impression that India has the vigor to grapple with the problems.
Game Law Error
Due to an error of ommission in the 1980 Summary of Virginia Game Laws, an amendement to Section 29-52 of the Code of Virginia was not included. House Bill Number 372 (1980) amended Section 29-52 by adding paragraph 4 (a) which reads as follows: "License shall not be required of resident persons under sixteen years of age to trap when accompanied by any person eighteen years of age or older who possesses a valid State license to trap in this Commonwealth."
