Two vehicles were involved in a collison September 8 at 10:30 a.m. a mile south of Woodville on Route 522. They were Mrs. Carol Ann Bearden of Uniontown, Pa. and Franklin Campbell Hitt of Woodville.

According to Trooper Newlin both cars were southbound when Hitt attempted to make a left turn into a driveway and Mrs. Bearden started to pass at the same time. The 'Bearden car, a 1979 Datsun, overturned when she struck Hitt’s ’69 Willys Jeep. Bearden was charged with reckless driving.

Newlin also investigated a vandalized Ford loader belonging to the highway department which had the windshield and side window glass knocked out with rocks.
