He was a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Practice. Tidewater Academy of Family Practice and Norfolk Academy of Medicine. He was also a member of Norfolk Yacht and Country Club and Princess Anne Country Club.
Memorial donations may be made to the building fund of De Paul Hospital, Norfolk.
Payne
Oscar Lawrence Payne, 83, of Sperryville died September 9, 1980 in Page Memorial Hospital. Luray. He was a native of Luray, the son of the late Charles and Texanna Dwyer Payne. His first wife was Verlie Ann Dodson who died in 1934.
He is survived by his second wife, Annie Belle Clatterbuck; five sons, Lawrence E. Payne of Winchester, Charles S. Payne of Stephens City, Virgil L. Payne of Fredericksburg. Albert B. Payne of Washington and Carl W. Payne of Sperryville; four daughters, Montrue Mae Poland of Alexandria, Haley Ann Drummond of Winchester, Dorothy Grove of Luray, and Charlotte Jenkins of Washington, Va.
Other survivors include two brothers, Lester Payne of Front Royal and Harry Payne of Alexandria; and one sister, Alice Cave of Luray.
A funeral service will be held today, Thursday, at 2 p.m. from the Bradley Funeral Home in Luray conducted by the Rev. John Burke and the Rev. Randall Odom. Interment will be in the Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray.
