You can pick one up at the store for only $1800 for the large horse or just stop by and look at it and at the herbal products and antiques Cheri has at the shop. Or, if you prefer to order from the catalog, any order placed by December 10 will be filled by Christmas.

Like the Woodards the Swindlers at Country Manor on Route 211 a few miles east of Sperryville, have tried to feature in their catalog a sampling of each kind of item found in the shop. There are toys, mountain crafts and products, a huge selection of baskets and some Country Manor specialties like the Blue Ridge Mountain trolls. Also like the Woodards, the Swindlers have published a catalog before but this is the first year they’ve done it on such a large scale and the process is exciting, if a little scary. On one recent trip there we found Phyllis Swindler at work filling some of the mail orders generated by the catalog. The service she was providing was as personal as larger operations would like you to think they have. At Country Manor, the picture of personal service is the real thing. Phyllis had taken an order early that morning by phone at her home. (“This lady from Pennsylvania just couldn’t wait,” Phyllis said.
