“Obviously, if we get more deeply into mail order, we will have to have special store room shelves with everything numbered,” she said. "But now, I just fill orders from our regular stock.”
Phyllis wrote a little personal note on the bottom of the copy of the order form that’s enclosed with the package, wrapped and addressed it, and stacked it in the front of the store. All this was done in between her regular duties in the store and all that day’s orders were finished before the UPS man came by for his daily pick-up.
The Swindlers have plans to use an area in the basement for the mail order portion of the business so that it will be self-contained away from the traffic upstairs.
