Latham DENISE EIDSON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Eidson of Amissville and a seventh grade student at Rappahannock Elementary School, was the first place winner in the Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District’s poster contest in the school’s competition. She placed fourth in the district which included art from Madison, Orange, Greene and Rappahannock counties, and attended last Thursday’s dinner meeting at Graves Lodge, Syria, where she was given a cash award. Other winners from Rappahannock were Thomas C. Williams, second; Matt Burnett, third; and honorable mention went to Walter Frye. She chats with Bill Monroe of TV’s Meet the Press, who was guest speaker for the annual meeting of the Soil and Water District.
