Atkins
Luther Amos Atkins, 77, of Huntly, died Sunday, October 25, 1981, in Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the First Assembly of God Church by the Rev. Becky Knight and Rev. Alden Yates. Burial was in Flint Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Atkins was born April 11, 1904, in Rappahannock County, a son of the late James B. and Texana Pullen Atkins. He was a retired employee of FMC Corporation.
Surviving with his widow, Dorothy Fisk Atkins, are six daughters, Bernice Welch and Margaret Jenkins, both of Flint Hill, Violet Mclnturff of Strasburg, Shirley Baker of Front Royal, Barbara Owens of Hartsville, Ala., and Dorothy Jenkins of Sperryville; one brother, Silas Atkins of Markham; one sister, Mattie Jenkins of Winchester; 13 grandchildren and 17 greatgrandchildren.
Munro
Ronald Martin Munro, 67, of Warrenton, died Oct. 21 at Fauquier Hospital.
A native of England, Mr. Munro was manager-director of Pimpernel USA Inc., with offices on Meetze Road. He had lived in Warrenton for several years.
Mr. Munro had been a member of the Queen’s Own Highlanders, retiring with the rank of colonel. He also had been commercial officer at the New Zealand, Australian and British Embassies.
Survivors include his daughter Mrs. R. Lee Payne of Woodville and a brother K. A. Munro of Hong Kong. Graveside services were conducted Oct. 23 at Woodville Cemetery by the Rev. Robert Marston.
Tharp
Eddie Tharpe, 69, of Culpeper ""died Monday, tte&bfef 26, 1981 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville.
Funeral services will be held at the Gore Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday (today), conducted by the Rev. John S. Farrar. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Mr. Tharpe was a native of Rappahannock County. His parents were the late Thomas and Lillie Mae Tharpe. He was a retired farmer and a member of Remington Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virgie Pierce Tharpe of Culpeper; two daughters, Mrs. Gid Fincham and Mrs. Richard Hoffman, both of Culpeper; one son, John M. Tharpe of Culpeper; six grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Helen Jeffries of Orange.
