Sift 4 cups allpurpose flour and resift with 4 teaspoons double-acting baking powder, Vi teaspoon cinnamon and Vi teaspoon salt. Mixt moist and dry ingredients. Fry in deep fat heated to 375 until golden brown. Pumpkin Bread 1 two-thirds cup of allpurpose flour '/« tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda V* tsp. salt '/j tsp. cinnamon and Vi tsp. nutmeg one-third cup shortening 1 one-third cup sugar Vi tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 1 cup pumpkin one-third cup water Vi cup nuts Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift together dry ingredients. In medium mixing bowl, cream sugar, shortening and vanilla. Add eggs, stir in pumpkin.
