Nursing Course
Applications currently are available for Piedmont Technical Education Center's | nursing class which is scheduled to begin in late August. 1982.
Adults of any age as well as high school juniors or seniors may apply for the program.
The applications and information may be received by contacting Piedmont Technical Education Center or by seeing a high school guidance counselor.
In addition, applicants will be given a test for basic skills and required to have an interview with members of the nursing staff. A dental examination report must also be filed with the school.
All of these steps must be completed by February 28. No applications will be accepted after that date.
There is no tuition charge to residents of Orange, Madison, Culpeper or Rappahannock Counties. However, the cost for books, uniforms, and other expenses is approximately $400.
Only 24 applicants can be accepted so it is .very important to apply early.
A total of 165 candidates has graduated from the program since it was begun in 1968. In the last five years graduates have had 100 per cent passing on State Board of Nursing Exams and have been licensed to practice the art of nursing.
