EPA Funds Definite
Sperryville's malfunctioning septic fields which drain raw sewage into the community's ground water and into the Thornton River are ranked as the number five health hazard in Virginia. This ranking puts Sperryville fifth in line in the state to receive EPA funds, the $1.4 million construction grant expected to be awarded this fall. According to Stu Wilson from the State Water Control Board, the worst possible case would be delay of the money for one vear until fiscal year 1984 (which begins in October, 1983).
As for the $500,000 community development block grant, the Sperryville project is given one of the best shots in the state for securing funds from this source, according to John Capelle, executive director of
