Pursuant to Section 15 1-431 of the 1950 Code of Virginia as amended, and Article 17 of the Rappahannock County Zoning Ordinance. 1973. notice is hereby given that on the 16th day of June. 1982 at 7 30 p m at the Courthouse Building in Washington. Virginia, the Planning Commission of Rappahannock County. Virginia will hold a public hearing to consider the following applicaiions for amendments to the Rappahannock County Zoning Ordinance. 1973
(1) The application of Luther Payne to rezone a parcel of land fronting on U S Route 211 east of the Town of Washington. Virginia (Tax Map Reference No 20-20A) from Agriculture District (A-1) to General Business or Commercial District (B-2)
(2) The application of Robert L Bowers and Ruth E Bowers of Amissville. Virginia to amend Article 2 of the Rappahannock County Zoning Ordinance by adding a new sub-section permitting archery, skeet, trap or target shooting ranges with a special use permit as follows
"(21) Archery, skeet, trap or target shooting ranges; provided: (a) no range may be located closer than 100 yards from any public road, residence or business unless the owner consents thereto in writing; (b) the range shall be constructed in accordance with a site plan; (c) no range may be operated unless inspected by the Building Inspector for compliance with the site plan; (d) no range shall be located closer than 150 feet from any property line, unless the adjoining property owner consents in writing; (e) no range shall be used before 9:00 a.m. or after 5:00 p.m; (f) the owner or his agent shall be present at all times the range is in operation; (g) there shall be no consumption of alcohol on the property where the range is located and no intoxicated person shall be allowed on the range."
