The Ways and Means Committee, chaired by Harry Clarkson, unveiled plans for a block dance to be held Saturday night, July 3, on Gay Street in Washington. Music will be provided by Jeff Harper. known throughout the area as the former dee-jay and music director at radio station WEER, Piedmont Virginia’s -musical oasis which went off the air last year.
The dance will run from 8 p.m. until midnight. In the event of rain, it will be relocated to the new fire house. Co-chairmen for the event are Sandra £fcrfwrighttsrown and Sam O’Connor.
