Boxwood Leal Minor - Mrs. Florence Williamson, fondly known to many as Rappahannock’s herb lady, just called to ask about the timing of sprays to control the boxwood leaf minor. June 1 to Father’s Day is the recommended material. Follow label directions for mixing rate.
Orchard Meetings - We have had an excellent series of orchard meetings this April and May. Orchardists have had the opportunity to observe other Madison and Rappahannock fruit growers’ management technique > and to discuss pest management practices with the area fruit specialists.
There will be one in orchard meeting in June and that will be next Wednesday, June 16. in Alvin Meadow's Orchard. Be there at 11 a.m. Bring a bag lunch. Mrs. Meadows will furnish the drinks and refreshments. Call the Extension Office for directions.
