Theodore C. Barron of View town has been re-elected to the Board of Directors of Rappahannock Electric Cooperative.

Prior to the incorporation of Rappahannock Electric Cooperative in 1980. Barron had served on the board of Northern Piedmont Electric Cooperative for over twenty years. He held positions of both vice president and treasurer of that organization and has been active on a siate level as a director of the Virginia, Maryland and Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives.

Barron currently owns and operates Barron’s Store in View town. He is a charter member and past president of the Amissville Ruritan Club. Barron, and his wife, Margaret, attend Amissville United Methodist Church where he has served as treasurer, board chairman, and steward. He also held the position of treasurer of Little Fork Charge of the United Methodist Church and seived on the administrative committee for over 25 years.

A new slate of cooperative officers was elected during the board of directors meeting which immediately followed REC’s annual membership meeting on August 28. Executive officers include. J. Shelby Guss. president. Bowling Green; Frank D. Ashley, vice president. Falmouth; Eugene L. Campbell, treasurer, Manquin; and R. Lindsay Gordon, secretary. Orange.

Elected to serve on the board with Barron were William M. Alphin, Culpeper; Gary W. Sarkozi, Culpeper; Lee S. Estes, Ruckersville; William C. Frazier, Montpelier; Oran V. Jarrell, Ruther Glen; J. S. Andrews, Bumpass; A. Miller Arritt, Spotsylvania; Elwood C. Towsey, Mineral; William F. Jeter, Milford; and new director William E. Lane of Millers Tavern.
