With high food prices and shrinking dollar value, consumers in urban areas are Iurning lo "basics" stores, or no-frills merchandising to help stretch their grocery dollars. Now, those in Rappahannock County can shop locally at a market offering reduced prices.
Jim Harrison, proprieter ot the Boston Store, has converted his grocery to a discount grocery. With the opening of Boston Basik, Harrison is hoping to offer more quantity and lower prices to Rapp’ahannock shoppers. A trip to his grand opening last Friday showed that his forth a l certainly appealed to many local people. Shoppers were wheeling out his advertised specials by the cartload.
