Lamer Hugh Jenkins, 65, of Washington died on Saturday, September 4. 1982, at Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
A native of Rappahannock County, Mr. Jenkins was the son of the late John Golden and Lena Fincham Jenkins. His wife was the late Edna Brown Huff Jenkins. He was a farmer and a production worker at M. C. Corporation in Front Royal. He was a member of Oakley Baptist Church near Washington.
He is survived by two sons, Roy E. Jenkins of Sperryville and Bobby H. Jenkins of Manassas; a daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Proffitt of Highland Springs; six grandchildren; four brothers, Ennis Jenkins of Orange, Lester Jenkins and John Jenkins, both of Chester and James Jenkins of Florida.
Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Isaiah Burke of Berryville, Mrs. French Smith of Culpeper, Mrs. Warren Payne and Mrs. Charles Burke, both of Richmond.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church at Sperryville by the Rev. Ronald Wiley. Burial was in Washington Masonic Cemetery.
