As of Tuesday. Rappahannock's common wealth’s attorney Douglas Baumgardner had not received a response from the county School Board's special legal advisor regarding Baumgardner's request for copies of two architectural reports.
Baumgardner made his request for the reports and other documents in a letter dated August 23 after receiving complaints from the Rappahannock News and Amissville resident Olga Fontaine that the School Board had violated Virginia's Freedom of Information Act by refusing to release the documents. Under FOl. the School Board has a maximum of 21 days to answer the inquiry.
In his letter to superintendent of schools Robert Estabrook. Baumgardner also requested information on Rappahannock's contributions to Piedmont Vocational Technical Center sought by Fontaine and a copv of a report on a proposed index salary scale which the News had asked for along with the architectural reports. Baumgardner added in his letter that he would forward the documents to Fontaine and the News.

Salaries for teacher aides, totaling $75,5%. range from 44 percent of a first year teacher’s pay for first year aides to 48 percent for aides with four year’s experience.
